Polar Codes and a M-ary Modulation-Based OFDM-PLC System

Power Line Communication (PLC) serves as a medium for communication over power lines, utilizing the existing grid information transmission. It offers low-cost, highly scalable signal transmission method and has potential to become preferred technology providing broadband in smart homes, offices, grids. However, noise line channel, especially impulse noise, seriously affects quality of PLC. In this paper, we establish an OFDM-PLC system with higher-order modulation polar codes. The QAM or APSK technique is employed increase rate performance analyzed. To combat PLC first model it using superposition multi-damping sinusoidal functions then introduce coding scheme suppress system, thereby improving reliability. Simulation results verify that proposed based on can improve Bit Error Rate (BER) channel under interference.
